Have you tried registering a user with the default Snitz version code? Can you provide a link to your forum?

Yeah, I've seen it happen. Admiting that you haven't changed the code I can only figure that is due to some kind of problem with the server. Can you talk to your host to see if they can check the email server for error messages?
I can't see any other reason for that. Maybe your old copy of register.asp is still being cached. Can you rename it just for a while to see if it keeps registering new users even when the register.asp file is not there.

Hi,
I renamed it and it came up with a "page not found" error when I clicked the "Agree" button under register.

So, there is no caching. I guess it must be something related to the email server then. Contact your host to see if they can tell you whether there have been rejected messages at the server or similar. I can't see a reason for what is happening, sorry, admiting that you are already using the current version of the forum.

I am having a problem that is nearly the same thing. I have my email set to ASPMail, but have tried everything available with the same results.

I have the same settings as manner, too:

Require Unique E-mail: On
E-mail Validation: On
Restrict Registration: Off
Require Logon for sending Mail: On

Still, when someone registers, it says:

Your Registration Has Been Completed!

You may now begin posting using your new UserName and Password.

And you login just fine. No email confirmation. No nothin'. I've also tried it with Restrict Registration on.

No mods. Just orginal stuff. Installed it brand spankin' new yesterday.

Can you create a temporary admin account and email me the data so that I can have a look?

Fixed. You had Email mode set to Off. Also set Restrict Registration back to Off, since it is not need for email validation. Set it back to On if you want to have members approved by you before the email validation email is sent.

Well if you have Restrict Registration On you need to approve members before email is sent. Approve them, not activate their accounts, these are different things. Activating their accounts means not caring whether the registered emails are valid or not. Approving them as members will start the email validation process.

hello,
i am having problem with the email validation,
my provider(lunarpages.com) have chili!Mail, but this is a recent problem, just a few days ago works fine.

i had the email server options like this:
Require Unique E-mail: On
E-mail Validation: On
Restrict Registration: On
Require Logon for sending Mail: On

right now, for testing purpose, i have them like this

Require Unique E-mail: On
E-mail Validation: On
Restrict Registration: Off
Require Logon for sending Mail: On

and with both options, do not work.

the only thing i see "anormally" is when you check in the members pending option, the value of "days since" shows a negative number, for example "-148"

my forum URL is http://tuningsv.com/forum

thanks for any help

Raul

It's a known issue. See the fix here: http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=41476&SearchTerms=StrToDate
