I've had some less than scrupulous types decide it would be fun to spend an afternoon flooding my forum by posting a new topic, hitting the back button and posting again and again.

I deleted the 300+ posts, and in turn decided to take the forum down until I can implement some kind of solution to stop the flooding.

So, I ask ye mighty code-gurus if there is indeed a way to do this. I am running v3sr2. I haven't upgraded because I foolishly made some changes to the code so it would fit into my website structure. To redo that would take a _long_ time.

Is there anything that can be done?

If you look in the MOD forum (with code), there should be a mod which introduces a delay into the post, so you can only post say every 60 seconds, this would put most people off.

Yes, I tried to implement that, but I think my post_info.asp is considerably different because I had trouble understanding the placement of the code. In other words I couldn't get it to work because I think I was inserting the code snippets incorrectly.

Is there a more detailed "how to" on that modification for the inept souls such as myself?

I do appreciate your help. Your modifications are indeed worthy of hearty cheer. Just dummies, like myself, occasionally need their hand's held.

Thanks again.

You can send me your post_info.asp file and I'll add the mod to your file.

I'm having the same problem that Bob had. I have managed to implement the code that stops people posting multiple messages. However, people can spam by adding topics. I can't find where to insert the code though. Could anyone please help?

Thanks
