Also, you should remember that applying this strategy I used will only work for SQL Server DBs
Yeah i know, and it is a darn shame that i use Access
I would be willing to add this to Advanced Search MOD but i have no way of testing it (as i said, i use Access ) |

I just added this to my site and it works very well and I have not gotten errors for the most ludicrous searches (that it seems people like to do all the time).
However - while testing I noticed that there's no login box up top. Now this is if I am not logged in. If I log in before hand and go to the page, it says "You are logged on as" and I have the logout button. This occured in IE6 and NS4.7.
Also, can someone please tell me what the page size is when the go to their search page (the html page size in k). Mine's 154k, quite large, but maybe that's because of the members list (and if that's the case, I'll get rid of it). Thanx. (I just saved my output and it was a 170k page. I then deleted the members list. 22k. Wow.) ruirib - if you put out a version where you can type in the member name like we have here, that'd be great Heh. I'll try and work on it myself if I get a chance.
Great job ruirib. |

I made no changes to the page regarding the login box. This is a normal search.asp page with the queries changed to be faster. I've just compared the two (the one here and mine) and saw no differences. |

that is the normal behavior. Try it on this site, you'll get the same results. |

So it is!
I assume it's so people don't log in after getting search results and then receiving an error or nothing, or whatever would occur? |

yes, there were some undesired results when someone logged in after doing a search. |

what version of snitz is this for? It's trying to include a bunch of files I don't seem to have? |

It appears this search page dosn't return results for a topic that has no replies. Example if you search for a word that is in 3 topics it will return the 2 topics that have replies, but if the 3rd has no replies it dosn't show up in the results. |
