I know this is the Snitz forum, and I could ask this elsewhere but I respect the advice of people here more than anywhere else. I tried to install Linux on my extra hard drive and somehow the install flopped. I was going to dual boot XP and Mandrake. Anyway, to make a long story short when I'm in XP now I can not see my extra hard drive anywhere. Any advice on how to get it back?

What tool did you use to prepare your disk for use with lunix? Try running it again and converting / formatting it as something compatible with NT/XP.

In XP, right click on My Computer and choose Manage, once there, goto Disk Management. Does your second hard drive show up there?

Thanks for the quick responses guys. Partition Magic was able to save the day. XP was not able to read the Linux partitions on the drive so I guess it just assumed it wasn't there. I was able to reformat it with PM, and I'm going to give up on attempting to mess with Linux. I really don't have the time for it. =)

products such as VMWare & Virtual PC are useful for trying out Linux without messing up your hard drive. I installed slackware linux using Virtual PC to test the forum in a Linux environment with MySQL, it was pretty simple to install and setup.

VMWare currently also have a beta of version 4 available for people to try out for free as well.

Thanks. Once work slows down. I'll give those a try.
