How many of you out there use Sprint? Have you noticed steadily increasing prices, despite a contracted price?
We have cell phones through AT&T, Sprint & a government provided satellite phone.
Our Sprint phone gets LOUSY reception when it gets any at all - and the bill never equals what it's supposed to. Every time we call their customer service, we get a different song & dance, different additions to the bill (like a "payment processing fee" - a charge for paying the bill?) and so on. Had to buy new phones to supposedly get better reception (due to tower modifications) but the reception did not improve.
AT&T's phones get much better reception over a wider area, the bills are what they're contracted to be, and their customer service never seems to add any charges. Furthermore, they gave us free new phones as upgrades.
Anyone else experiencing problems with Sprint? |

All I can say is they all are about the same... lousy.
Recently, my fiance and I got a family plan to eliminate 2 different bills. We were quoted $50/month for 2500 minutes from Suncom. Our first bill comes.... $475.00. I told them they were smoking crack.
- They had a third phone # listed we don't have. - They had us on the wrong plan - They added 3 features we didn't want - They charged us for 75 minutes of roaming in our own town (never explained the plan correctly)
When I got frustrated with them after 3 bill cycles to get the bill adjusted, wanting to cancel the account they told me it would be a $200 cancellation fee.
Now that I got the Better Business Bureau involved... everything seems to be fine.

I have also had some problems with Sprint and some fees. Since any service I've had has given me similar problems I've almost gotten used to it I hate to say.
One real problem I have is that whenever there's a change in plan I think they really screw me over. From the beginning (and I've had them since 98 I think), I've always had to pay a month in advance; and they seem to want you to do this every time you change a plan. The credited amount back NEVER seems to be on target and I know there's probably plenty of money lost by me on this. I've had to call quite a few times for things like this. Also - I like to usually have a nice new-ish phone. I get them in the store and am told "no activation fee", but of course there's one on my bill. There's another phone call and complaint. There's more too...
Unfortunately, I've had even worse luck with other company's service and plans. I just hope one day someone gets it right. |
