Wow, that company that had the FreeBSD hosting with nearly 4 years uptime is going to get a lot of customers. What a good advertisement for them, and I guess congratulations to all host who make it into the top 50. |

Cool, but I guess like many of the *NIX machines featuring in the top 50 its probably a "cluster" in which case I dont think uptime really is an accurate measurement. |

to be honest, I would be very worried if a server had been running for 12 months without a reboot, that means it is running an OS that is at least 4 years out of date and has had no updates at all in between, I would consider that to be a negative point not a positive one. And I would be extremely worried if it was windows and had been running more than a few months, if it has been running a year it is very very un-secure. |

i think they're measuring downtime for the provider, not actual reboot intervals. i could be wrong i didnt read the page. but like gremlin said, in a farm/cluster enviorment the downtime is not accurate on a per server basis. |
