I got a result from Google that indicated Snitz can be used to setup a messaging system. The page it offered was on this server at one time, but is not available anymore.
Is it possible to use Snitz for other types of communication such as chat, voice chat, video chat, and IM? I'm sure it could be highly modded, but are any of those clients already coded and available?
I was looking for some communications clients to add to my website, but what I've found are expensive. My site is running on an NT platform with MS software. It has streaming.
Second, why are so many of the faq's locked, specifically the webmaster faq? |

There is a Private Message Mod for Snitz and also some Chat Mods (haven`t tried the Chat Mods myself). Maybe serverhackers pre-modified forum has something like that.
The FAQ`s are locked cause they are FAQs and normally created by an Admin or Moderator! |

Pretty sure ServerHackers does have a real time Chat application modded into it.

yes it does, it uses liquid chat, but many members are not happy with it. Many server side ASP scripts require a refresh and often flickering. Its not like the IM you are used to. |

Seems to be time to develop some free, open, secure, unencumbered, full strength web based communications programs based on recent technologies for the benefit of humanity. |

If instant messaging is important, and you have the resources available to expend, you could try some open source instant messager server and distribute your own client to your users.
