I've just found a little note from the postman saying my "do-it-yourself-kit" for my ADSL connection at home can be picked up from the post office. Now all that's great, but I'll need to use a rather long cable from the line splitter to my computer on the second floor.
What's the maximum length for UTP cables? I expect, but will have to measure it to be sure, to need about 22 to 25 meters. Will this pose a problem or can this be done without any side effects?
The price difference between them is so negligible that yes, I'd say go for the 5e if for no other reason than the fact that it should be a better quality cable. Cat5 is also slowly being phased out in favour of 5e, its getting increasingly difficult here to be able buy a roll of it.
