Hi there, looking for some information regarding the various processors and gateways out there.
First, I'm not interested in PayPal. It simply won't suit my needs. Authorize.NET seems to be one of the most widely used processors, and I have no problem using them. I guess my big question has to do with what institution you're using to handle all this.
I've looked into Wells Fargo, as they are my bank already. Some of their pricing is as follows:
$99 setup $39/mo $0.30 transaction fee 2.35% Visa/MC/Discover Discount Rate 3.25% Amex Discount Rate
That's a quick summary, of course. Who are you using, and what pricing are you finding? Any surprises (fees) I should look out for or ask about?
Thanks for any thoughts... Al

Well, I've researched this also, but haven't made any decisions. Verisign seems to be the 800-pound gorilla in this market, but I'm reluctant to go with them because of their practices as registrars. One of my students, who's a .NET developer told me something interesting about his experiences with his site that sells cell phone accessories--he said that batch processing was much better than realtime processing for several reasons that I can't recall right now. |
