I have the PM mod installed on my forum (http://www.leo-land.net/forum/default.asp). Everything is working great, but there is one problem! When a new member just registered, he doesn't have a PM icon next to name! If you go to the forum and click Members, he's(sk8er) the only one without the PM icon! Why is this?
Thanks for the help! |

Well, there is no option to no be able to recieve PMs... It's weird! In my admin options I also cannot choose who has pm and who doesn't.. Hmm.. I think I just had a great idea! maybe I'll turn it off for everyone the turn it back on for everyone.. Maybe then it will add him.. it's worth a shot!!

That option is personal and each member can choose to not recieve PMs. It isn't handled from the admin section, where you can only choose to allow/disallow PMs for everyone. Go to your inbox and choose Preferences (button to the right). The top option is for recieve/not recieve PMs. |

Is there anyway to have this option set "on" as a default? Because I know this kid and he wouldn't even know how to turn it off, therefore he didn't turn it off, and that means that the option for PM is set as "off" for the default..

It should be on as default.
I signed up as member deleteme, and I noticed something strange when I went to the preferences for PMs. It seems to be off by default, which indicates that something isn't right. Are you able to view your database and check the M_PMRECEIVE in the members-table? It should have a 1 as default value, which it doesn't seem to have. |

I meant the database for the forum. It could be that the M_PMRECEIVE field in the members table has the wrong default value (0 instead for 1). |

Well, I've looked in the DB and the table appers to not even be there! I guess I should just add this and set the default to 1? That should take care of it right?
Thanks for the help! |

You must have a members table, otherwise you will not be able to register at your forum or even login on it (much less have a working forum). MEMBERS is a default table in snitz, so you must have it in your database. |

Sorry, I meant M_PMRECEIVE in the Members Table.. Should I add M_PMRECEIVE to the members table? |

Ah, ok.
Login to your admin section and click on Alternative MOD Setup. Paste the following into the code textarea: ADD#M_PMRECEIVE#int#NULL#1. Click submit and it is done. It should work ok after that. |

Im glad you got it working.
You can delete member deleteme from your forum now, as that was my test-account (if you haven't done that already). |
