I bought a 775M Cisco router and cannot get it to work with My ISDN line.
The main problem being the selection of a switch type. In the fast set-up software provided with the router I am given 3 options:
National(NI-1)
AT&T (5ESS)
Nortel(DMS)

I live in the UK so I think I need NET3(after a lot of looking around on the NET) which isn't in the list, the autodetect option does not work. So in all my installation attempts it says the spids are rejected I presume my problem is that the router may have been meant for the US market as it has a 2 pin round plug, which is not what we use in the UK. Should I have different software giving me the choice of NET3 ? and if so is there anything I can do about it ?

I know many folks here must have plenty experience with routers. My other main problem is I have never used telnet or the like, hence my reliance on the fast set-up utility that came with it.

The router was bought on ebay for about £50 which seemed like a good deal..at the time. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Here's a good suggestion. Sell the Cisco Router on Ebay and buy a more home friendly router with a GUI like ones you can find from Linksys and/or Netgear. It would probably be your best bet.

You probably need a firmware update to do it, have you tried Cisco's site.

The 2 Pin Round plug your referring to is called a "10 BaseT" Ethernet adapter (2Mbps iirc) not many network cards have those plugs on them nowadays.

Yeah I was refering to the mains cable, I can power it fine, and Cisco don't seem to want to help unless I have a contract with them, but I will dig around their site some more.

I have found a way around the SPID problem though but as yet it keeps rejecting my ISP phone number.
