What I would need most is to turn the oppertunity off for editing in own messages - or is it just me that havenīt found this oppertunity yet ? ... and it would also be nice if the members could delete them self as members - using the same system as for pending members, confirmation link in an e-mail send to the member.

deleting one's own personal account? what would be the intended purpose for this? I think you'd find that most will NOT do this. if they are no longer going to participate at your forum, they'll just never come back... I seriously doubt that they would come back just to delete their accounts. maybe elaborate on this a bit so I have a better understanding. I mean, it can be done, but maybe we can offer a better solution.

Hi

Well, you know some people want to slam the door leaving whenever they feel upset about something, for me its ok. to let them delete them self and letting them slam the door this way. And I donīt get requests to be deleted from the memberlist - and I donīt have to delete them myself.

The editing of messages often screw up entire topics and its hard to find a line in "who said what and when?" - people have to get used to that they write on a public area - what is written is written, if they regret - they can post a new message and say the regret their earlier statement.

well, the easiest way to prevent editing of topics/replies is removing the conditional checks in topic.asp.

Find these lines and remove the red portion:

1. if (AdminAllowed = 1 or Reply_MemberID = MemberID) then
2. if (AdminAllowed = 1 or TMember_ID = MemberID) then

as for deleting a member, there would be more work involved doing it the way you want with an authentication link and all.
