Hi,
I just downloaded and implemented the IP Ban mod from Davio:
Ban User IP Mod

for v3.3.03 of the Snitz Forums
Last Modified: December 26, 2001
I run Snitz Forums 2000 Version 3.1 SR4 and all the code seems in place. I don't think this is a big deal.
In thereadme file it says: Next, go to your admin options, select 'Mod Setup', select "Ban IP Mod' from the drop-down list and click the 'Update' button.
It will install the necessary database fields.
The problem I ran into is that I don't have a option Mod Setup in my admin options.
The option Ban Users is available, but of course it doesn't work. The database has to be upgraded first.
The error looks like this: Exception occurred.
/segaforum/admin_ban_ip.asp, line 193
How can I make sure the mod is correctly installed? I don't wanna upgrade the forum to a newer version by the way.

you should be able to download a 3.1 SR4 version. I can't find a working link though. Can anyone please help me?

And I don't think i created a ban ip mod for the 3.1 version of the forums. I think I started the first one with 3.3.03. So this won't work with earlier versions.
There is no Mod Setup because the Mod Setup feature was implemented in the 3.3.03 version.
Final answer: This mod won't work with your 3.1 SR4 version. |

Oh wait, I did make a ban ip mod for the 3.1 SR4 version. 
I will send it to you via email. Let me know if you have recieved it.
And one more thing, you might want to remove your email address from your post. Spam bots like to roam message boards for email addresses. So if you don't want more spam in your email address, I suggest you remove it. But only if you want to.  |

I recieved your mail.
I did notice the difference, but I didn't knew the differences between the two versions.
I want the old version because I cannot update the forum to a newer version strangely enough. Maybe you know what's wrong. |
