Hello again.
I have a forum that's in the google search engine, the address is http://mirage.webbhost.net .
Ive just registered a name for it www.carpbaitcity.com . My forum is in a different place than my name, so I contacted my forum host and asked if I could get the name put on it, he then created me a new domain. He said I hade to delete the old address (http://mirage.webbhost.net), then I asked what would happen to my forum in the search engine, and he said it would go. This seems abit odd to me, and i was wondering if this is the norm?

I'm not sure I understand you completely, but if the content of one URL is moved to another URL, it'll probably be considered different content (spiders and bots can't tell that you've simply moved things). In your case, I think most people would put a redirect on their old page that would send visitors to the new page. With time, the new page would push out the old one. But it sounds like you have only one page, right? If that's the case, you can't do this. Anyway, I think your site is fairly new, so you're not losing that much time. A lot of us around here have spent years building our websites, so a few weeks, or even months, doesn't seem terribly significant.

if your url changes then search engines to not just update the link. it has to be reindexed by all the search engines.

Theres no reason why both domains can't be pointing to the same place. No doubt you host uses IIS and Host Headers, all they need to add is another Host Header to your existing domain to have both point to the same place.

Basicly i have a forum with one host. (121) And i registered my name with someone else.

My forum host has created me a new domain (forum) but i will lose all my search engines after i delete the old one. Im ok with that. What im worried about is all my members i have already, will i loose them? I ask coz when they go to log in from there favorites columm, they will have the old address in there.

This is why you want your host to add the new domain as an Alias not as a totally new domain. I would think 121 should be able to do that for you via the method I described above (Host Headers)
