I'm really new to snitz forums.
I have 4 small questions and any help is welcome.
1. I want to use an international version of the forum, should I wait for v4.
2. If I install 3.4 now, will I be able to upgrade to version 4?
3. If I install v4.0 beta 3 now, do I need to reinstall it when v4 final is released, are will tables and stuff look the same?
4. Does snitz forum 2000 v4 use stored procedures are is it all based on normal conn strings (vor Access and SQL)?

1. don't wait, it could be a while.
2. you should be able to.
3. don't really know, but beware that v4.0 beta 3 is 3.3.x compatible (i believe)
4. no stored procedures. |

You'll need to install again, but your data and config options will not be lost, since your database will be upgraded during the process. |

Thanx for your answers guys, I will be using the 4 beta 3 version to mess around with. We need the forum operational in 2nd quarter 2002 and judging from your replies and other input I got the 4 final version will be out by then 
One more question, why are all the files packed in one directory and not in like 5 (images, functions, includes, java, stylesheets).
My FTP is choking on this one hehehe

Don't hold your breath on that one.
For any version we release, expect it will be out in 2 years, and if it comes out earlier, then be surprised. But if you expect it in a few months, you will only be dis-appointed. |

Between v4.0 beta 3 and v4 final there will be a v4.0 beta 04 release. That is in alfatesting now. v4.0 beta 04 is the internationalized version of the standard snitz 3.4.x
There are many workgroups, including a dutch one, participating in this. They will provide a localised language file as has been done in the past. So, as Rui said, explore v4.0 beta 3, and upgrade when the new v4.0 beta 04 is released (no date known yet).
