We've had a guest with the same IP address for over a week now. They keep showing up as replying to one topic after another in rapid succession (at the rate of 2-3 topics per minute) even though they can't actually reply because they aren't registered.
We have the IPgate mod installed and the IP address of this user in there as banned, but they keep showing up in the online users area? We've got the current Snitz forums version installed also. Not sure what to do about this or if it's harmful or not?

Have you done a whois on th IP address? My guess is that it is just a search engine spidering your pages.
Go to this page here http://www.all-nettools.com/tools1.htm and type in the offending IP address into the SmartWhois box, and it will show where its coming from.
