I think it would be nice to have a world map that would color the countries that members are from. You could even have hyperlinks to sort the membership by the country selected...
Any takers? |

yea, it's been suggested before and I spent a evening trying to source a picture of the world all 'image mapped up' that was available under GPL or such like.
I've got a couple of possibles but I'm waiting for the web masters to give me permission to 'modify' their code (something like this) |

K, I've modified another site's maps of the world and the effect is every good: mouse over the country and you see how many members are from that country, click on the country you see their names/able to PM them. I'm not able to post pics/offer it for download as it's copywrited html taken from another site (heck, even posting about it could get me in trouble)
Anyhow, my point is if anyone can find (or has the time to do it themselves) maps of the world already divided up with image maps it's would be a very cool mod. |

Fantastcic idea for a mod. Unfortunatley I Admin for a site thats aimed at UK people only. I wonder if the mod could be implemented to focus on a specific country and list cities ?
I'll keep my eye out for some PD maps. |

the principle is the same.
There's a mod about that allows folks to choice their UK county (or US state), install that, then modify the image map to display the data pulled from the db on each county. |

Here is what I was thinking (let me know if you want me to continue working on the map)
1. You can have the regions specified from here and more detailed maps come up.
2. You can also select the Country by Name using the pull down at the top.
3. You can click on a country and the members registered from that country will populate the Members box (also have a selection for all members from the selected country)
4. You can click on the name(s) you want to email.
5. The translator runs from this page.
What do you think? |

| I'm anxious to see this too -- I'd like see a version by state or province (U.S. & Canada) also -- The US accounts for about 85% or more of my club's membership, Canada about 5-7%, then the rest are spread almost all over the world... |
