Ok i have read the Readme file and am at the step where you upload the apps to the /db file. I am using a Brinkster Account and am using access. So what files do i upload to the Db folder. I uploaded the setup.asp Config and some others. I could never open the Setup.asp. When i would go to /db/setup.asp it would say some error like asp file was not working or undetectable. What files do i put in and how do i get it to instalation. |

only the .mdb file should be in the DB/ folder, all others should be in the root folder |

Preferably your database should be in a folder above the root web folder, to avoid the possibility of someone downloading it. If that is not possible, I would advise giving the DB a hard to guess name, or even chaging the extension to .asp. instead of .mdb. |

Thank you i have done that and i now get a 800040005 (or something close to that) error message saying it cannot open the .mdb folder. I have checked the roots in the Config.asp and changed it from the Brinkster Username one to the Virtual path and it just wont work. Do you know what is wrong. |

You're on Brinkster? Than you have no other way than using the existing DB folder, but only for your database file. Leave all the other files in the base folder.
With Brinkster to avoid your .mdb file being downloaded just renamed it to a something ending in .asp. Of course, if you change the DB name, you also need to change the value of the strConnString, to reflect the new database name. |

rurib, he's using serverhacker's MODed ver, so it's not all in one root folder, as far as I know. And I already said before he should put the database in /db/ |

I know you said it, but you should also have warned him that putting the database inside the DB folder and without changing the name would expose him to having his database downloaded. Either you don't know that or simply forgot to tell him. Either way the outcome could be not very pleasant for him.
I don't know whether he is using Serverhacker's mod or not, since there is no info about it in this topic. If he did, then he made two mistakes: posting in this forum instead of posting in the Mod Implementation forum, and forgetting to mention that his installation problems were not with the Snitz base version. |
