I have down loaded the forums file to my PC, how do I upload the files to my web site and create a functional forum. What do I need a editor for? How do I have to edit the file? Someone help Please. |

You can upload your files with an FTP client. And "editor" is just a fancy name for a program that can open your files. Notepad will work just fine, although many people use fancier programs.
Be sure to read the readme.htm file included in your download. It's very easy to follow, IMO. |

thanxs for the info,i was told i can use an editor called aracnea,it opens the files in html.I have no clue what to do with it.if i open the files with notepad,how can i transfer these files to my website folders which are edited through another program(microsoft frontpage).The files are alot,or do i just transfer the whole forum file.Thanx again and please be patient with me. |

That's what TestMagic explained. I suppose you extracted all the forum files to an empty folder and then changed config.asp, as explained in the readme.htm, using aranea. Then you can use a FTP client, to connect to your web server through FTP and use that client to transfer all of the individual forum files to the proper folder in your website.
An alternative would be to add all the forum files to your website, in Frontpage. Probably you could create a folder for the files, and import them to your Web, copying them from Windows Explorer and pasting them in Frontpage. Then you could just publish your Website using Frontpage. |

i've got some progress,thank God but when i access my forum page it does not look coplete what am i doing wrong.the message says(ADODB.Field error '800a0bcd'
Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.

ok with a bit more concentration,i have finally completed the installation with total success everything makes sence now,it was not so hard just made a lot of silly mistakes.thanxxx again. |

hello once again,just when i finally got my forum up and running,i brake it.i was cleaning my web and i must have done something wrong.everything in the forum looks normal but when i sign in as the admin i get this message=(Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Operation must use an updateable query.
/forum/inc_func_common.asp, line 595)what does this mean and what is the solution? thanx
