Has anyone ever made a mod, or thought of making a mod that automatically resizes an image that a member posts for the correct screen resolution of the user? SO lets say, bob over here posts a picture that is made for an 800X600 user and rob over here with a 640x480 screen resolution views the picture but has to scroll to the right. The image resizer would take the picture, and make it into the correct size for robs screen. I guess this idea is kinda like how Windows XP, by default, resizes larger images in Internet Explorer so you can view the whole thing without scrolling to the right.
I don't know, just an i dea of mine (and I am sure others) that would make a nice mod. I don't have the slightest clue where to begin, just throwing ideas out.

You cannot know the image size until it is loaded unless it is on the same server, where you can analyze the image.
After it is loaded you can reach the image properties through JS and change them & refresh the screen if any image is changed... You need to make use of the screen.availWidth to find the clients properties...
It will be a weird behaviour thou...
It is just another story if you are taking about uploaded images...

| Is it possible to have this included as part of the [IMG] function? What I mean is the forum checks the tags and what's between them, isn't it possible to have it insert the size in the code too? |

| Nevermind, just reread the first posts. I was thinking more along the lines of a preset size for all images. |
