I've been thinking more on the issue of inactive users and users with bad email addresses such as discussed here: http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=38479
How about a mod to require members to periodically re-validate their profile information? This would send another activation key and do the whole email validation thing again.... The admin could select the interval -- 90 days, 120 days, etc. Users would be prohibited from using the forum until they revalidated their profile info and most importantly their email addresses.
On a related issue -- I've added additional mandatory fields that I'd like to get the users to update in their profiles. But, asking doesn't get great results. This way, they'd be required to add that info when they revalidated.
Any additional thoughts on how this might work, or how it could be implemented?
