I'm not sure if this is posted in the right forum or not, but when setting up a new forum, the password field for the SQL user wasn't long enough to accept my full password. the length on the password field located in setup.asp on line 413 (v3.4.03) should be longer then 20 characters.
Thanks |

you should still be able to enter more than 20 characters, it will just start scrolling to the right. |

I will have to agree with Richard, size=20 indicates the size of the box, not how many characters you can put in it |

Yup, its 24 characters long! and is alpha-numeric with capital letters and symbols! I changed the length to 50 (didn't need to go that high but who cares) and i was able to type my full password into the text box. |

? you can type any length you want into the edit box, the size parameter does not limit what you can enter, that is set by the MaxLength parameter. |

Still, you didnt actually need to change the length if you read what the guys above posted you'll see why :) SIZE=20 only limits the number of characters displayed on screen not the number you can enter into the text box. |

I changed it before i made my original post. I'm not sure why, but i couldn't type in the last 4 characters of the password when trying to setup the forum. when i changed the number to "50" it would allow me to type in the rest of the characters and all was good. *shrug* i don't know why. |
