Both FrontPageNews MOD V4b03 Compatible version and Guestbook V4b03 Compataible version are back at SnitzBitz....for your info....

About this particular version:
Again, this one is a V4b03.x compatible/converted
version of FrontPageNews V3.3.5 by Burthold. Details explained in
Readme.txt.
Changes made:
inc_news_body.asp
admin_newspost.asp
for handling text string variables
Newly created:
LangMODS_frontnews.asp - new variable declarations and LangMODS_frontnewsNNNN.asp lang file includes.
LangMODS_frontnews1033.asp - English (full)
LangMODS_frontnews1041.asp - Japanese (full)
and other LangMODS_frontnewsNNNN.asp for only text
strings in inc_news_body for the title and dates, for
languages of:
1028 Traditional Chinese
1031 German
1034 Spanish
1036 French
1040 Iatlian
1046 Brazil-Portuguese
1049 Russian
2052 Simplified Chinese
2070 Portuguese
Title/date translations only (from available online
dictionaries) for these and all Admin options will be
in English.
All LangMODS_frontnewsNNNN.asp language files are set to UTF-8 formats.
These are main items packed. This is strictly for
V4b03.x compatible version.

This is a little note for anyone out there who is a V4b03.x user and may be interested in these mods...
I've been playing with Guestbook MODS and Front Page News MODS...
These mods are made V4b03.x compatible, especially testing out at i2Asia Forum (which by default is a demo site for these). Each zip file contains an updated readme along with the original (as no real major re-coding is involved and installation/setup procedures tend to be about the same).
The main part of MODS enabling for V4b03.x involves a development of LangMODS_modname.asp and related language files, with some changes in forum MODS files to handle these text strings. I hope it is self-explanatory.
BTW, these come as is (no special support planned and these are at a level of "1" for a difficulty scale of "1" (easy) " - "10"(difficult)....so with that note, if you are interested (in improving these actually)- go to the following forum download page:
