Re: ReadyHosting............ why anybody in their right mind would tolerate this joke of a host is beyond me. Did someone say SLOOOOOOW?! You have no idea unless you're with them! Can't even publish a small 10k page update with FP without it timing out over half the time. Use a forum?! Forget it! 20-30 seconds to get from page to page, and that's on a good day!
Serious bandwidth issues for sure! I'm outa there next week when my new host gets me set up! I didn't want to pay much for hosting for my personal site, but after 2 months with them I'LL PAY ANYTHING to get any type of normal speed back!

I don't understand how this works:
I'm with 1planhost.com which has the same exact $99 per year plan as readyhosting.com, same exact features, carbon copies of each other...
Yet, different owners. Does anybody know if these two are related? |

I don't really have any complaints about Readyhosting considering I'm only paying $99 US. My site is basically a personal sandbox where I can practice my ASP and share pictures with family back in the States. I can probably count my users on one hand and still have fingers to spare. If I were building a commercial website it might be different. It also helps that when I'm uploading everyone in the States actually is asleep.
Its not that easy to find affordable hosting in Japan. Now there's something to complain about. Here it goes from expensive to outrageously expensive.
just my $.02 from the other side of the Pacific.

Try finding good hosting in NZ, its really hard because of bandwidth costs. Our company pays around $800 NZ Per Month to get around 10GB of bandwidth (thats ~$400US), yet for my own hosting I pay around $70 US per month for 70GB becuase the servers are located in US rather than here in NZ ! |

Ok, tha's enough, we removed the hosting forums because this is what happens.
If you think your host is a joke, move.
There are numerous posts here with suggestions for good hosts. |
