I mentioned this in my post above let me ask again -
Can anyone suggest which code to look at to troubleshoot why I cannot see original text when editing any post in the forum? The topic title shows up but not any of the original text.
Thx. |

hehe
I mean in my forum. I use serverhackers mod and took the access database and just converted it to sql.
After a mod or possibly after converting from access to sql, I lost the ability to edit posted messages
and still see the original content in the FORM window. I assume it's between <textarea></textarea> tags but not sure where in
the post.asp <- i assume this is where it is ...
I can view the text if I edit any FORUM proporties and all REPLIES to topics but not any of the TOPIC properites themselves.

I am wondering if this will work with MySQL as the Database? I just installed Snitz and liked what I saw here.

Yeah, well, Netscape 4.7 is not looking good, but I have about 1% of visits using this browser, so it doesnīt really matter. Looks great in Opera 6.0, but I havenīt tested the upload feature with this. I change the way it works though, so when users upload a pic, the actual pic is shown in the post. |

Hi Serverhacker and all. I've got your forum setup for testing, I'm happy but the first problem I have is the following error when clicking on the events calendar links-
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'
Type mismatch: 'Dailyview'
/forum/cal.asp, line 44
I can also get the same error from line 42 too. Forum is at-
http://realestate.www2.dotnetplayground.com/forum/default.asp
Any help please?

Steve.

NS 4.7 should never be considered for typical browsing. There latest version works with SH Portal except the upload. Also, one should still never discount Netscape users, regardless of stats. I'd be surprised with anyone considering web development for a living to do this or even try to explain to their customers that they will only code for one browser time. This is not directed towards you wii, just wanted to voice my opinion on this matter. I support cross browser coding 100%. Just because IE and NS don't follow the rules doesn't mean programmers should give up. |

Oh, I do agree, I still consider Netscape 4.7 when designing websites, my sites work perfectly in Netscape 4.7 - except my AV forum, which I wanted so much that I decided to use even though it doesnīt look good in Netscape 4.7. By the way, the upload feature works perfectly for me in Opera 6.0 - I havenīt tested Netscape 7.0 yet. |

It sounds to me like you may not have write permissions set to the data folder maybe. Make sure you have all your write permissions set correctly. You need to set it to three folders!! |
