The version I adapted for 3.4 already showed the avatar picture when you select it, both on registration and for normal users editing their profiles. So thank Richard Kinser for that as it was in the version for 3.3.
Or maybe were not talking about the same thing.
You can see what I mean here, I cant link directly to register.asp so your gonna have to make at least 1 click I'm afraid.
There are a few avatar mods around so one of them may have what your looking for
If you do use the one I adapted (aww go on) then the zip was updated the other day so make sure your up to date!

Yes, yes, I'm using your adaptation!!! OK, I downloaded the mod maybe 4-5 days ago? I forget, exactly ... have applied the mod to all files except pop_profile & topic, so far. What files did you change?
I went to your site ... that's pretty neat. That was in 3.3? I must've done something wrong, or am using an older version, 'cause mine doesn't function that way. Just shows the box with all the avatars listed ... [it is Richard's mod]
Anyway, the Legend shows roughly a dozen at a time ... page by page.
Thanks ... |

hi~ Rich,
i extract some code from "My Avatars List" mod, and packaged in 3.4 code. maybe you have instered to have a try..... and in actually, that mod just base on Advanced Avatar Legend code...
i remove a lots code from my original modded code, just leave below some simple feature on...
# Avatar Group - base on user's Posts Level to gain a different available avatars set.
# Avatars Legend - modified advance_avatar_legend.asp file, to show avatars list.
# User Submitt Avatar - modified pop_add_avatar.asp file, to let user submit his own Avatar link url. (but need Admin approved.....)
if you don't need these, just put the pop_avatar_legend.asp link into your inc_avatar.asp. i think it should be also can work.
get it here..........Avatar34addon.zip |

The only problem with the avatar too mod is that, the user can't put in a url for his own avatar, and that he can't put in that acual size

if you need this feature, you can try cbovis's Custom Avatar MOD http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=34509 i think this one can do what you need.
and if you already have Richard/Hamlin's Avatar MOD installed, you also can try the pop_add_avatar.asp addon for user put his own avatar link url. http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=34223&SearchTerms=pop_add_avatar
and regarding the avatar size question.... in actually, you can get rid of width/height limit from avatar <img> tag easily. but it will become more hard to control the page format, if users submit a big avatar image. |
