Ehm, did you change anything after your post, because I don't seem to be having any problems while visiting the site. I registered, posted two replies, looked at the front page, active.asp even ran setup.asp (all that told me was the forum was setup ok).
Any ideas on what I could do to recreate the error message ? Could it be that you only get the error when you enter a private forum ?

Yep, I went and changed things. I'm Scuzzy, Bear's partner. All I did was upgrade the database, and all is well now. Thanks for your help just the same. The SR4 changes are currently on our mirror site, but my plan is to update our current forum at http://www.poasters.com/forum/ by tomorrow morning now that I know what to do.

It's working for me now too. Apparently I was trying to get in while Scuzzy was still tinkering.
Way to go, bro.

You mean you guys didn't do that before ? Well that explains a lot, amongst others it explains why the forums said it was a Version 3.1 final while Bear Skarky was sure to have used a SR4 install.
Well, it works, that is the most important thing, I'm glad you didn't give up.
