I just wanted to say it seems many are having problems with the pop-up calendar. I'm going to try rephrasing and bolding certain parts of the instructions to see what works a little better... Just posting publicly to see if anyone has made any changes to their forums regarding this already.

If I had a clue what you were talking about I would agree, disagree or atleast point you in the right direction to people that are having the same issues you are.

When my members are signing up, they're filling out how old they are, but many wind up being just "13". A few said they're picking the year first, but it's just not taking. I don't know whether or not that's necessarily true though.

I tried to duplicate your problem on a clean install of 3.4.03 and no matter what order I put in the age always was saved. dunno.

I tried to duplicate it as well and never ran into a problem. I have no idea why this is so common.

I just noted last week that this forum showed me as 13. The calendar feature is a little confusing at times if you don't pay attention.

ok - a real answer (just to be different):

What's happening is that when people fill in their date of birth on the registration calendar, they neglect to hit the |GO| next to the year drop-down. I guess they assume the date changes automatically upon selection.

Then, since the default date in the calendar just HAPPENS to be 13 years ago ....

- VodkaFish, if you want your users to see the calendar instructions, replace "pop_datepicker.asp".

Carefree - I realized that's what it is, I just can't believe that that many users didn't hit "GO!" I think I'm going to put a line of instructions underneath it, with "choose month and year then hit the day" - with then all bold and maybe even caps.
