There should be a trash icon above the post, as long as you are logged on as author of the post, moderator at the forum where the post is located, or Admin.

Hello!

On my forum I have one moderator to help with keeping things orderly in certain topic discussions. Permissions are set within it to allow this person to add, delete, preview, etc., posts in that forum. However, I had the option "Alllow Topic Moderation" turned off at that point within the Feature Configuration of the Admin Section.
The moderator left me a note that one reply had been entered twice by a user. The moderator proceeded to delete the second duplicate entry and while trying to delete it, by way of clicking on the trash can icon, a hand came up prompting them to stop and that they could not delete the post. I found that odd. As an admin, I am prompted to input my username & password to delete anything using the trash can icon. Why was the Moderator not prompted to do the same? Am I missing something?

Anyway, the only thing I could immediately think of, is that I should enable the option for "Allow Topic Moderation" in the Feature Configuration within the Admin Section to remedy this. By enabling that option will that allow my moderator to delete posts if necessary? And will it prompt that moderator to input username & password to confirm deletion?

I'm not sure if enabling that option was the fix. Any help or suggestions to take care of this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Have a great day!
Terry

Moderation has nothing to with post deletion, so it won't solve your problem.

I don't know of a hand appearing on post deletion! Never saw anything like that.

Maybe post a screen showing what happens?

ruirib,

Sure. I've already left a post for that moderator to test this out again when they can later today. I'll post my findings here as soon as I get all the info.

Thanks for getting back to me ruirib!!

Updated: I checked with the moderator. The problem they were having did not repeat and I was unable to obtain a screenshot. It seems like a fluke. If in the future it happens again, I will post here on this thread with a screenshot. Many thanks for your time!

Have a great day!
Terry
