Snitz version 3.4.0.1
Mods, Active Users.

For a few weeks - everything has been working 100% (apart from 1 or two niggly issues). However today, I see

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Cannot open database ''. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.

/v3/forum/inc_header.asp, line 106

Could this be what the error says ? ie corrupt db?

was this a new install, or an upgrade from an older version?

Probably just need to update your database from Access97 to Access2000.

These are mysteries to us. At least to me. Maybe someone else could explaimn why that might occur. But to fix it you need to convert your database to an access 2000 database.

Usually happens when your host updates the MDAC on the server. I believe that the newer version of the MS Jet Drivers no longer supports Access97 (I don't know for sure though).

Sorry for the delay - but as you suggested an upgrade from Access 97 -> Access 2000 of the db worked a treat. Strange - the config.asp was somehow set to Access 97. Could this have caused the sudden failure (I guess so - as nothing else has change). Hosts say nowt changed over night - and the forum went down when no-one was on it ... v.wierd...

Anyway - all is fixed.
Cheers guy - *really* appriciate it.

Andy
