Hi,

I did search on the topic and found a good discussion on how to increase the subject line length from 50 to max. 100.

I was wondering why do we have the subject length restricted at 50 where as the database size is 100?

If database size was also 50, then no problem. BTW, I personally would prefer to have the subject size increased to 100.

So do it in your forums. You do not need anyone's permission to do so.
I do agree that the difference between size limitation in the code and in the database should be removed.

having a subject line more than 50 characters has adverse effects on the tables (like in the tree view, etc..)

Ok. Maybe that could be handled at that level then, cause I find the limit a bit restrictive...

I thought another reason for this is how some characters are entered into the database. For example, those people that need to put punction all over the place like & and ". So there needs to be some difference so you don't get an error. Sorry if I'm mistaken.
