Is it possible to set a forum to only have posts by certain authors but to allow everyone to read the posts? This seems like it should be simple. Hopefully I am just missing something. If I try to set the author type to "Allowed Member List", it will not allow others to even read. Thanks for your help,
Not an easy thing to do. Without changing code you'd need to set all authors as forum moderators and enable moderation for the forum. Then only posts from the mods should be accepted. Of course, once a topic is started you can always lock it, thus making sure that only moderators can post there.
I also think there is a Posting Restrictions mod, but I don't think it has been upgraded to 3.4. I also don't know the mod.
