Is there a way to edit image size in posts without turning on HTML? I know in html I could do W=160 H=180 or whatever but what about with the [img] tags?

No, you cannot do that with [img] tags.

It would be nice with a feature to limit image sizes in order to avoid the table exceeding the screen witdh when people post very big images, as this affects the readability of all posts in the topic. Perhaps there's a mod for this.

Or you could make a rule about image sizes and let all your users know about it. If they don't stick to the rule, turn off the use of images in posts for a month or so. If you're dealing with mature users, they'll stick with the rules that you make for your forums.
