i got rid of my random password mod and got this mod working.

it seems to work...it adds users to accounts pending section...

it says email has been sent to user with instructions

i guess perhaps i have a mail server problem that i dont know about..
does the mail server have to be on the host machine.....is there anything i can put in the email server field to test it out.

this used to work on my old server with an access database..
now its a new windows server with sql server 2000.

i thought maybe my random password mod was screwed up but now this one is doing the same thing

DAVIO..please help..

Please do not use all capital letters in the subject of your topic. Using all capital letters is considered screaming.

Well, you need to do some test to see if it's a problem in the code or a problem with your email server.
Have you tried all the other email functions of your forums?
"Forget Password?", "Email User", "Send Topic to a friend", Normal registration email with email validation turned off.

See if you get an email using those functions. If you don't get any email, then it has something to do with your email server.

A link to your forum would be helpful.

Also check your website admin to see if you can send emails from your website.

What email component have you selected for your forum?
Are you sure it is working on your server? Check your server admin to see if you can use that email component.

Yes, the email has been sent. But where it goes after that, the forum cannot verify that. The forum can only tell you that, it created the email sucessfully and sent it off. If it reaches or not, is out of the forum scope.

You haven't told me what email component you have selected.
