Well as most of you know, once a moderator deletes a post or reply its gone forever. There is a slight problem on my forum. One person complained to me about her post being deleted by a moderator but it was unwaranted. So i contacted the moderator and he said he made a mistake. He was infact trying to delete another post but somehow clicked on the wrong topic (he tried deleting the post in forum.asp, with the delete option that is located on the right side near each post.). I understood how this could happen, as it has happened to me many times. Yes there is a point to all this, just keep reading.
So im just wondering can someone come up with a mod in which moderators could delete posts but it isnt actually deleted from the database. It still acts like its been deleted such as no one being able to view it, the post not showing up under the forum, etc.. But when admin logs in, he/she can view a list of all posts (topics and replies) that have been deleted, and has the option to bring back the post, and permanently delete it. Also i would like this mod to be available to moderators also, so they could bring back any posts that they have deleted by mistake, but they cant permanently delete the post, only admin can :) |
