Is there a Poll MOD for the latest version 3.4.02 ?
Will the MOD I had installed in my previous version (3.3.05) work with the new code ? has anyone tested or modified it as yet ?

| I have the new version of poll mod installed on my forums: http://www.dsilvera.com/forum/ Just need to convert it to the 3.4 version. But with the updates being released I don't know when I am going to convert it. I don't want to keep updating the mod files each time a new update is out. |

Sigh.. Could you fix your forums so I can have my name as my login. Its booting me cuz Schwanke contains w4nk. I dont have another name to use. :P Nice looking forums from the outside. :P
I feel so special having to ask every snitz forum admin to personally add me because the default settings think my name is a curse.
If you want to just add me manually. My login is Schwanke and my email is david@schwankeweb.net Then you can just email me a password or something. :) |

Nice to hear your updating it Davio.. , due to being bored, i spent the last two days messing with the 3.3.x code to work with 3.4.01 (found the last bug in post.asp about an hour ago, it's 100% working now, but still working on the layouts, there not exactly the same as 3.3.x version)
Kinda makes what i done useless  . It'll be nice to have an official version though 
Note to Self...must..be..more...patient..for...offical..version

I added in quite a few new features and fixed a lot of bugs.
But I feel I need to put in more new features. To make it worth while for users to use it.
Might put in a feature that allows the admin to view who voted in each poll. |

I've finished modifying the code to work with 3.4.02
I've just uploaded it to the snitz exchanage for download.

I installed KB's Poll Mod. Installed it on a test server by simply copying the modified and new files over top of the existing 3.4.02 files I had. I installed the Mod through the Admin Mod configurator thing. When I goto the Poll Configuration I get "Error Type:
Microsoft VBScript compilation (0x800A0408)
Invalid character
/forum/admin_poll.asp, line 155, column 67"
I am able to create Polls and even vote....one time. After I've voted, I am taken to the results page. Forever after I only get the results page, no matter what ID I sign in with. It looks good, but doesn't seem to be working...or I'm missing something.

OK I've realized that if I delete both cookies, I am able to vote again on a poll with another user. Obviously it's good that a particular user can only vote one time per poll, but as it is, a particular computer can only vote one time per poll (without deleting cookies). Maybe it's not as bad as I thought....still I'm sure there's lots of multi-user households who would get the shaft. Makes it harder for me to test too.
Another thing I've noticed is the Read count on the poll (ie listed in the forum column) is incrementing more that it should. Seems to be about 2 per view rather than one. Could it be that one increment is viewing the poll and voting, and another is viewing the results? The numbers have skyrocketted and I'm the only one viewing them. It may be jumping even more than that.
Still...by and large it seems quite nice...especially compared to the zippo I had before.
