how do I put a comment in the middle of a response.write?

example:

response.write " <blah>" & vbNewLine & _
                " <blah>" & vbNewLine & _
                " <blah>" & vbNewLine & _
                " <blah>" & vbNewLine & _
                " <blah>" & vbNewLine & _
                " <blah>" & vbNewLine & _
'## INSERT COMMENT LINE HERE #########
                " <blah>" & vbNewLine & _
                " <blah>" & vbNewLine & _
                " <blah>" & vbNewLine

whenever I try the above I get errors

thanks for the help

You can't insert comments into a repsonse.write line. Look at it this way the &_ tells it to continue on the next line if you did a single line i.e. response.write " asdf asdf asdf asdf asdf asdf"& 'comments &"asdf asdf asdf asdf asdf " it wouldn't work ether. that is what you are telling it to do.
