Just installed 3.4.02 (working great) except I noticed a small big / error which was also the same in 3.4.

I have upgraded from 3.3.05, so so still have the default ADMIN account !

I have set up a different account with my username and upgraded my account to an ADMIN !

Now: I can log into the admin home page with my username but when I go into the MOD setup page (and a few of the other options) it tells me I must be an administrator to use that page !
So I have to log in using ADMIN username- and that works !

That's not a bug. Since 3.4 there is the concept of a SuperAdmin, and only that superadmin can install mods and edit other admins. The SuperAdmin is defined at line #74, config.asp:

Const intAdminMemberID = 1

Just change this line using the ID for the user with your username.

this is NOT a bug, please do not label something as a bug unless you are 100% sure that it is.

Just on this can we instead of change this to our common posting username, add our name with an ampersan or something like = 1 AND 2 ?

Yes you can as long as they have admin priviledges, but it defeats the purpose of having a "super" admin that has final control....

Not really ... the word Admin as a username inspires that sort of "respect and fear" ... and as a administrator of the board I want to post and manage as an administrator without the title, and I don't want to have to log in and out everytime theres an upgrade and forget to log out and post as Admin if you know what I mean ... the other side to this is that I have a backup admin should my profile for some reason screw up or something go wrong .... but thats just me ..

I don't know why Dave said that. Either I'm missing something or writing

Const intAdminMemberID = 1 Or 2
won't work.

I think he wasn't speaking in a literal sense. You'd need to change code in several places to achieve what you are asking, as far as I can see it now.

NP ... don't worry about it ... im not that fussed ... incedently logging in as admin during the 3.4.01 to 3.4.02, I still didn't get the icon to lock the board .... but Im lucky that I have access to the server so I just put IP restrictions on the site until I was finished doing the update, in adition to re-applying the active users mod ...

If you're using Norton Antivirus, make sure you have Script Blocking disabled.
