The short answer is yes... it is possible.
The long answer is that it would mean two more fields to fill in for every smile (height and width).
Let me think about it for a few days... I may be able to grab the values programmatically.

Hee Aaron,
I still has this problem (see quote) and I really want to install your programm, could you help me out please?
quote: I tried to install the SmileManager MOD on my Forum. In the 'readme.txt' it said I had to copy some files in my Forum Directory. And because it's not a clean install (I already have a mod installed) I had to change some lines in several pages.
quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If this is not a clean install, then edit the following files:
1. admin_home.asp (1 change) 2. faq.asp (1 change) 3. inc_func_common.asp (1 change) 4. inc_post_buttons.asp (1 change) 5. inc_smilies.asp (1 change) 6. post.asp (2 changes)
Look for code between these commented lines:
'############# SmileManager Plus MOD ################
'#################################################### --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyways .. I don't see what I must change .. if I install the MOD I can't get to the Smile Admin in the menu ..
THX! |

Look in each file and you will see the lines that need to be changed.
Each change is within these comment lines:

The link doesn't work.
Anyone know where I could get this mod?
It's not even on snitzbitz.com.
Thanks |

OK sounds like an easy mod but not very easy to understand for newbies like myself.
Can someone explain the same question that ammar_ggedoN had?

Fully compatible with 3.4.03
To install the MOD into an already MODded forum I simply opened my version of the file and the version supplied in the MOD. In the MOD version search for "SmileManager Plus MOD" then look in your file of the same name to ascertain where to add the lines. There was a few tricky ones because of the MODs I have installed, but it worked straight away. Some with less programming knowledge may have a few more drama's though. |

thank you, I had the smilie manager in 3.3.03(?) and moved on into 3.4.03 and imported my database. So the fields are still there. I don't know if they have changed in values/settings for the fields so I might into problems, like the anounce mod which I had installed previously but the field types changes and couldn't work till some editing of the fields. Anyway thanks laser! I'll attempt to install this mod later on today and report any probs if I have any, I do have several mods installed too (poll mod, active users, ip search, ip gate, highly modified config.asp, events calendar, faq mod, rules mod, etc etc ) I hope no conflicts occur WWS |

Here's an example of the first file I see using a text editor, am I supposed to physically type (1 change)somewhere in the text listed below, then do that for each file listed on the readme?

That last question was goofy on my part, looks like I need to change something in the code for each of those files in the readme. For someone who is not a programmer, is there an easy way to see what needs to be changed?
The clean install? I thought that meant first install of Snitz not a mod? If I have no other mods installed and Snitz has been running for a few weeks, I still need to make those changes on Step 2, correct?

If you have no MODS installed at all, you can replace the files with the ones in the ZIP file.
There have been a number of general Snitz bug fixes so it is probably best to just replace the code in the each file.
You don't really need programming experience to do the install... just carefully follow the instructions and replacements in each file.

This is an issue with Snitz (and most sites out there). It happens to my users with the regular Snitz icons.

Everything worked great. Added a test smilie (animated gif) and it shows up in the Smilie Manager as added. When you post and try to click on it, it won't add to the post. Any suggestions? -o |
