Yes. Sorry for the confusion.

It is built on 3.4.01 code as a base.

Great MOD Aaron,

I just got finsihed installing it to a clean version of 3.4.01. Nice step up the Smile Manager I was using on 3.3.03. One question:

Is there a way to keep the "Default" software smiles in the table on the post.asp and just click on "see intire list" to get them all. The smiles I have installed to with the MOD on top of the "default" smiles are larger and my post.asp is way out of the right side of the computer monitor ------------------------->

I realize this may pose a problem with the members editing there own list and if that is the ay they want to view my site then that is their progitive. By default though I would like to have just the regular smiles in the post.asp table for new members until they edit them the way they want.

Thanks,

Jason

That is a good idea... I'll look into that as a setting.

One thing you can do is adjust the colspan # for your smiles.

Colspan = 1 means they take up one smile space. If you set it to 2, then it will take up 2 smile spaces. For longer smiles (like Cheers), you will need to set it to 2 or 3.

Hope this helps,

I tried the colspan already

I have all the colspans set at #1, checked all to view & enables and take a look http://www.generation-edge.com/testforums

Just click on the test forum and a new topic and you will see. Warning, don't try to adjust your monitor for the width .

I do thing it would be best that when you first come to the site as a new member that you see the post.asp smile table in the default mode until he or she edits the list for themself.

Thanks for the quick reply. Hope you can help me with this.

It's that dollar smilie. Set the colspan to 2 or 3 for that one and it should be pretty good....at least that's MY thought w/o seeing the actual code...

You have some neat smiles!

Try changing the colspan value on the following smiles:

Change to 2

icon_smile_argue.gif
icon_smile_toast.gif

Change to 3

icon_smile_shoot.gif
icon_smile_dollar.gif

See if that helps,

That brought it back right almost in view. I would say that would do if I wasn't so anal . I'll try a few other things.

Thanks,

Jason

How about a field called EXCLUDE.

Any smile with Exclude checked would not show up in the smile table.

The only thing that I have against Exclude is that if people can't view them on the smile list, they may not use them at all.

I understand, Don't take this the wrong way because I mean no offence with the work you have put into this MOD. This MOD is a great MOD but if you were doing this MOD just for me then I would say I would stick with the original post.asp with smiles table as it was by default which would also leave the HTML and FORUM CODE in it's default place. Under the default smiles table make a link to "entire smiles" list that show the smiles that I have checked in the admin_smiles. Of course the "edit smilies" for each individual user is nice but isn't necessary for me and my application.

I still think if there was a way to show the default smiles in the post.asp for a new members would be the best. "My user preference when using the board would be just to leave them and not edit them and just use the "entire list" link to get the ones I want". After the member gets fimalar with the page functions then he or she can "edit the smilies" as he or she wants and view the post.asp however wide they make it.

Like I said, "no offence", just my mind jacked up on to much caffeine

No problem at all.

I crave feedback.

As I am updating these MODs, I am constantly looking for ways to improve upon them not just convert them to the new version.

How far fetched it this? Make a column in the admin_smiles called something like "visible default" so you can check the ones you want a new member to see until he or she edits the list for themself. Is this possible?
