gpctexas: I'm trying to make a range ban of 66.189.1.1 - 66.189.255.255; I've installed the v21.zip with bug fix and have set the ipban/subnet as "66.189." and no go, the user slips past the ban mask. I can e-mail you the forum address and temp administrative login if you'd like to check it out. |

run down on latest 2.2 version
ipgate Version 2.2 features fix and improvements- -ipbans and subnet bans should ban a user with 1 entry. This should remove the need for 2 entries into the database to ban someone. -usernames,ipaddresses, and subnets should be able to share the same line in the db for bannings etc. -You can add a list of banned pages that all users whos status is set to blocked access, can not access. -new messages for noaccess, watched, and lockdown were added. -Pagekeys You can block certain pages from users while allowing them read only access to the forums. -individual ip's or users can be banned and have cookie set on their machine. -Cookies will expire based on the end date you specify when you ban someone. Once a cookie is on their machine they are flagged until the cookie expires. A cookie expire option has been added to help alieviate accidental range bans. -lockdown works -You can log all ips or only those specified to watch in the database. -This mod now only makes 1 trip to the database to check for ips, names, ranges etc. Should speed things up a little. -Admin ban prevention improved -NEW! A cookie is now placed on a users computer that have been blocked using the block pages function to prevent them from logging off andtrying to register under another name. -Works with Access or MS SQL

gpctexas - Why not call this v2.2 instead of v2.1?

When I ban or watch a user using cookies for some reason my logs log every page they go to 5 times instead of just once. I put myself as watched just to make sure they were not clicking each page 5 times and it does the same thing to me. If cookies are off it logs just fine. Any ideas ??? |

updated again, hopefully Gargoyles multi page logs is fixed.(With workaround) also the mini ban for blocked pages was put in. Some how my dev version got over wrote and removed this function. Version updated to 2.2
patched file is at: http://www.gpctexas.net/inc_ipgate.txt
If you want to update the version info copy the admin page from the zip and upload it to your site, go to the ipgate settings and click submit. This will update the version info.
zip updated as well http://www.gpctexas.net/ipgate_v22.zip |

I found the cause of the multi logging via cookies and I am testing the permament fix for it. The work around from previous fix will still work until the new one is thoroughly tested.
The number of bans/watches/blocked records would actually be the number of times someone was logged with a cookie. |
