Both have the same bug if you try to upload into an album as admin it gives you invalid use of null. It has been fixed in both.

That is the stand alone album you can check the forums at www.wesworld.net/texastgc and click on the photo album link in the forums. Can someone ship me a access 97 database for snitz? There seems to be some problems with the album and access 97.

It should be a problem with Access 97 and drivers on the web server... Keep it with Access 2000. E-mail me if you really want to have an Access 97 database.

One Q: Because you can know the image sizes, why don't you use them when generating the images on screen? It seems to be a bit jumpy...

Another Q: Did you ever find a way to create thumbnails automatically without bugging with the server?

Good mod IMHO...

How do you perpose I find the image size on all of the file formats the album now supports? I have played around with that consept but can't seem to lock it down for more than just gif images. If you can tell me I'll add it tonight for sure.

There is no way to create thumbnails without some kind of dll or external exe to process the image that I am aware of. I tried to meet a cross roads and keep it free.

Thank you I'm glad people are using it and trying to help me make it better!

Well, I'm also dealing with it. I used some simple batch programming with command line FTP with success. But it is not ASP and not much intelligent.

Search around here to find ASP scripts to extract image info from files on the server. It was something like gfxSpex function . I thought you were using it but not...

Best way of doing it is to write FSO based scan which compares pic's with tn_pic's (e.g. same name) and DOWNLOADS to client machine into a directory. An admin option of course. I could not do it because I could not find a way to DOWNLOAD it like the tweek in UPLOAD...

Ok I'll start playing with that code snippit. I was working with something like it that examined the file for what kind of image it was but had problems reading some gifs and jpegs.

I don't understand this statement are you saying users should upload thier own thumbnails? or have an admin option that executes the thumbnail program on a schedule?

Ok, That snippit works with all but TIF image types. I'll see if I can find the offset to read tif info.

**edit**
I got the functions to work so the image size is passed for all but tiff image types. I will test and see if it speeds things up any or not.

Thanks for the tip!

Wes

It is not wise to allow people to upload tiff files into web based image galleries anyway. jpg, gif & png is most important ones...

just take out the two lines of code. There are 4 tables but they don't effect the opperation of the board at all. Is there anything I can do to help you with the mod?
