I'm having problems upgrading my 3.3.03 database to 3.4. I run the setup.asp file but my computer just sits there for ages and then returns a Script Timeout Error. I increased the timeout significantly but that just makes it sit there and do nothing. The config.asp file is setup correctly with the path for the database and the database type. Have I missed something I should have done?

My computer isn't very fast and that may be part of the problem but if anyone else has any ideas for solutions I'd appreciate them!

Turn off script blocking in your virus scanner (or firewall). That probably fixes your problem.

My virus scanner doesn't have a script blocker function as far as I know and the only problems I've had similarly are with large scripts which my computer simply cannot run because it doesn't have adequate processing power. Also I don't even have a firewall.

I'm trying to get the forum up and running on my webspace where hopefully my hosts server will easily process the script a lot faster than my PC manages running PWS on WIN95 and I'll hopefully be able to get the forum upgraded and running!

But thanks for the suggestions.

First your is a permissions problem. There are so many posts about this in these forums that you could have found tens of answers just by using the search feature:

Second I would advise you to use an Access 2000 connection string. They are labeled as such in config.asp.
