Hi

I have just set up a forum at http://www.sykobabble.com but when I deleted the
default forum I get this error.

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'
Type mismatch: 'recForumCount'

/default.asp, line 383

Am I doing anythig wrong.

Cheers.

Something is defenately wrong as it now thinks there ARE forums and continues completing the page where it should show you the "there are no forums" error.

Ohhhh well, I will re-install the DB and rename the default forum instead of deleting it
Hope someone manages to find a fix to this.

Thanks anyway

I'm going to try something
I'll let you know how it turns out.

I tried that fix and it works as planned. Are you sure you did it correctly?

May I ask why you wanted to delete all forums though? You'll need at least one anyway...

Mmmm, not sure why it did not work for me, edited default.asp in wordpad and did exactly as it said in the bug fix post.

Just deleted the forum instead of editing it, suppose acts like this show up small bugs that may or may not be fixed

Managed to get it to work.

I re-installed the DB and applied the bug fix to the default.asp.
Then I risked deleting the forum and all was well.
Must have to apply the fix before the forum is deleted for it to work.

Nope. I deleted all forums and then applied the fix. The order in which you do it doesn't matter. The important thing is that it's working now
