As seen in the above topic I have some problems installing the new 3.4-version. Untill I find some one who knows what to do I think the best thing is to install my old version 3.3.03. Can I replace the new pages that came with 3.4 to the old ones found on your download site, or has setup.asp caused any damage?
There's one thing that won't work: all the passwords have been encrypted now, so 3.3.05 won't be able to handle them. Maybe use the backup you talked about yesterday?
Are you saying that the passwords are still like they used to be, instead of 64 character strings (all passwords will be 64 characters after they've been encrypted)?
I've never used MySQL before, but did you check in config.asp that the strTablePrefix and strMemberTablePrefix are the same in your new config.asp as in your 3.3.x config.asp? Maybe that kept the database from upgrading correctly.
If that's not it, I really wouldn't know what you could do to upgrade anyway. Sorry about that. The good news is that you can most likely just put your 3.3.x ASP files back and have your forums running again because the passwords never got encrypted.
I've restored the old files and the forum is up and runnig on 3.3.03. Some of my users sneaked in and they were all impressed by the speed of 3.4. So now I'm waiting for my web-host to answer my mails about the problems with the MySQL-tables (should take a week or two :-(
