I am setting up Snitz with MSSQL 2k and after installing it (even with MySQL) I get a message saying "Access Denied" and do not know what to do next. Is it the server, the pages, or just me?

Thanks in advance.

What connection string are you using? And what error message do you get exactly?

Never mind... I didn't move all the files into wwwroot. Now I get the infamous "cannot connect to server" error message. I am trying both MSSQL and MySQL to see which one will work first. I'll get it eventually.

Thanks.

I really appreciate it.

Ya know it really sucks to be a newbie to this stuff. I am just glad I am not a real administrator; I can just imagine for the sake of "ease of use" so many databases and wrong/default permissions result in unwanted results such as security breeches. Kinda scary.

Not really, databases, at least server-based systems are quite secure.

If you have more problems and want some help, post the error that you're getting rather than "doesn't work", you'll have a much better chance of getting your problem solved :)

Doug G, Thanks again. I got it all working now in MySQL :) I'll figure the MSSQL thing out, however, the MSSQL is a 120-day eval, so I guess MySQL is as good as anything.

regards
