I am setting up Snitz with MSSQL 2k and after installing it (even with MySQL) I get a message saying "Access Denied" and do not know what to do next. Is it the server, the pages, or just me?
Thanks in advance. |

Never mind... I didn't move all the files into wwwroot. Now I get the infamous "cannot connect to server" error message. I am trying both MSSQL and MySQL to see which one will work first. I'll get it eventually.
Thanks. |

I really appreciate it.
Ya know it really sucks to be a newbie to this stuff. I am just glad I am not a real administrator; I can just imagine for the sake of "ease of use" so many databases and wrong/default permissions result in unwanted results such as security breeches. Kinda scary. |

Not really, databases, at least server-based systems are quite secure.
If you have more problems and want some help, post the error that you're getting rather than "doesn't work", you'll have a much better chance of getting your problem solved :)

Doug G, Thanks again. I got it all working now in MySQL :) I'll figure the MSSQL thing out, however, the MSSQL is a 120-day eval, so I guess MySQL is as good as anything.
