I don't know for sure, but check this--look on the right hand side of the screen. Do you see a drop-down menu (under the "Logout" button on a standard Snitz installation) that says "Show all topics from last 30 days" ? Switch it to "Show all topics."

If that doesn't do it, I don't know what it could be.

BTW, make sure you've upgraded the latest security patches if you're running lower than v 3.4.

HTH!!

You're getting familiar with common situations Erin . I bet that's the cause for rapidcarbon's problem.

I even open the table in database to see if the data still there, but they are all gone? Have anyone faced that kind of problem before?

So you did change it to "Show all topics"?

I assume you're opening the db from your local hard drive? If so, did you back up the remote db to the local one? Maybe the data is there, but for some reason, you're having a hard time seeing it. It seems unlikely that all your data would just disappear.

<edit>Oh, you said it was a local network. Got it.</edit>

Did you change any of the paths? Perhaps some of the code simply doesn't know where to look for the data that's still there.

You said this has happened before. Did you ever recover your data? Or was it lost forever? This just sounds strange...

Well data in a database just not delete's itself. Your case is the first I've seen about this.

Are you sure you have not an authorized user of a hacker doing this?

Also it's only topics that disapper, or member and config info too?

By any chance did you (or somebody else with Admin priveledges) run the archive procedures? That will move the data to a different table in the DB and produce the effect you are talking about. Note: the Archive process will (in default selection) move topics that have not had activity in 30 days.

This run by local network, and I am the only user who use this forum to test it.I am pretty sure there is no hacker involve in here. I could never recover the data, The path never changed, and just only topic table got wiped out.

This is so weird

Are the topics completely gone, or is there a possibility that they are archived? Open the database and look in the tables FORUM_A_TOPICS and FORUM_A_REPLY. If they posts are there, they've been archived.
