**Note to moderator: I wasn't sure where to post this (or even if I'm allowed), so I stuck it in here. Excuse me if this is the wrong forum. It's just that I didn't see and actual MOD request forum.**

This may be bizzare but I need a Snitz 3.3 with these MODS:
  • Active Users

  • Avatars

  • IP Ban

  • Polls

  • Sticky Topics

I've done the usual "install yourelf" routine and it just didn't work. I mean I really did my best to ensure everything was correct. Doublechecked everything and to no avail. So, if you're a really good MODer and are willing to help me, please email me. goldenboy446@hotmail.com

P.S. I think there should be a protocol for writing MOD installation tutorials. Some of 'em are just nasty. But kudos to those who've tried to make them good.

Some MODs are released as MODs after someone has made changes to his/her forum and gets requests from others if they can use the codes. In some of those cases, the readme files are put together as quickly as possible, or not added to the ZIP at all.
Also, some people just aren't good at writing help or readme files. Can't blame them for that, can you?

As for a protocol, or requirements for readme files for MODs: that'd make things more difficult than necessary for many people who write MODs. Although, several MOD writers have taken up the habit of using an HTML readme file which is usually clearer than a simple .TXT file.
But, as MODs are made as a service and because the MOD writers want to do it, I don't think you should force them to make the readme files in a certain way.

Of course, this is all IMHO.

By the way, this post should've gone into the MOD W/O Code forum I'm sure someone will move this topic though.

FrutZle, you're right. But it would be nice if the Snitz admins could encourage the writing of good installation guides. It's just that having a good readme file with your MOD is considered a bonus. But to me, it should be standard. Maybe you can have an official reame file writer. One who converts all the readmes to HTML/PDF and give better explainations & info. Like you said, that's just IMO.

crash, is that all you have? Could you help me out? I really, really want these features but they've screwed my forums up big time. I've installed four MODs so far: Stickies, Poll, Merge Forums, & Flood Control. The first two mentioned didn't install correctly. They actually screwed things up. So is it possible if you can give me your regualar files & the database upgrades?
