hey all,

i had a snitz forum running on one of my personal sites. took a look to see what was happening on it today and found this:

http://www.24-7mtb.com/snitz2/

anyone seen this happen before? i did a quick search on google and the snitz site to see if there was any reference to this baris guy but cant find anything.

did someone manage to do some mad 'drop table' sql command through the search box or summat? or is it possible someone managed to get ftp access to it?

any thoughts appreciated.

thanks,

chris...

Looks like someone exploited one of the old security leaks. Here's my copy & paste answer:

Go to the Announcements: Security Related Bug Fixes forum, set the select box to "show all topics" and apply all bug fixes.

If you don't have any MODs installed, you could go to http://forum.snitz.com/specs.asp and download the latest forum version there. Use that to upgrade your forums. All information currently in the database will still be there and all security and bug fixes will be applied then.

In the future, check back on these forum regularly to see if there are bug fixes and then apply them right away.

You cannot get any information back that has been lost unless you have made a backup of your database prior to the hacker's exploit of old security leaks.
