| Um, Richard. I hate to be a downer but what shall we call it 3.4beta1 and it seems in certain instances it has in fact made it out. Nothing I can prove within a shadow of a doubt. But there is rumor on other forums about a soon to be released version that is 3.4 ready etc. Now if in fact it was so controlled I think that would hardly be the case now would it. But to those who it is paramount to get it NOW I would suggest targetting the Moderators and such here and putting on a great deal of chapstick. Then if by chance you can kiss A** good enough to get it, send it to me since I too would love to see it but will not stoop to that level to get it (not to say the thought had not crossed my mind). |

The only ones who should have a copy are:
Admins and DEV TEAM Members (have had access to all betas/RCs)
Moderators (have access to v3.4RC2)
If someone other than those mentioned above have a copy, I would certainly like to know who, and just how they obtained it. If it was from one of the Moderators here, that person will no longer be a Moderator.
v3.4beta1 didn't have much in it at all, it was basically just v3.3.03 converted to Response.Write and included all of the bug fixes. It didn't have password encryption either.
We went from v3.4beta1 to v3.4beta21, then to RC1 and now RC2. The next version will be Final and will be out this week (meaning before Saturday). Hopefully sooner.
I'd be interested to know what "other forums" have this rumor you speak of.
The v3.4 source code is really no big secret, I just had absolutely no desire to support it through the beta stage except for those on the DEV Team. We have an EXCELLENT Development Team who know how to test for bugs, and when found, how to report them so that everyone understands the problem. This helps tremendously with tracking down bugs and getting them fixed. I wanted to keep the group small and focused. |

What good will getting it now be ? it is still only in "release candidate" mode so to speak and any bugs that are fixed between now and release will NEVER get posted on the forums here as bug fixes, so getting it before its released could in fact end up leaving you with serious bugs or security leaks that you don't even know exist. |

They most likely mean mine, sinse I have access to the code, and it has been running on my test site for a little longer than here.

All this want, want, wanting 3.4 reminds of violet beauregarde in charlie and the chocolate factory.
Gremlins statement about the dangers of using RC's in the field should be enough of a warning to anyone 'coming by' unreleased code outside the dev team to reconsider using it.

Actually Huwr I wasnt talking about you at all, I am just making a founded statement on my wanderings the 3.4beta ref. was just something to call the prilim. version circulating, Hell my links section for forums has at least 97 links in it I am aware of and if the truth has gotten such a bug up the rump then by all means disreguard it.
But dont worry the point is taken, If I am to make an open statement in response to a post here then I am to make a spectacle of myself by spilling names here in front of everyone for your benefit.

| what I said is you can't just come and post unfounded statements, if someone is running a 3.4 beta site that shouldn't be, then you should inform us who rather than just making a wild statement like that. |
